More exploration of the architecture/tech to harvest/purify the smoke from the lava
Smoke harvesting pillars - more pillars signify more wealth. Perhaps they purify the toxins from the smoke and send it back out as cool, purified air.
Exploring organic architectural forms, keeping in mind how the lava would look as it layers/gets carved

A world-building personal project that I started and will continue in my free time.
Much is still in development, but the idea is an artisan society that specializes in kiln technology & lives in an alien lava stepwell with red sands.
The stepwell would be a massive trade market where people would go for their oven-related services or for rare volcanic stones. Perhaps outsiders would bring the resources, and the furnace folk would smelt or forge specialized weapons/pots/food with these outside elements.
I also wanted the architecture to reflect how they utilize the hardened lava to carve or build their structures in an organic, man-made way.
